RESOURCE SPECIALIST PROGRAM
This is a special education, pull-out program for students with learning disabilities.
COUNSELING
There is an on-site school psychologist as well as a learning support professional to give students special testing or other attention as needed.
SPEECH THERAPY
A speech/language therapist is assigned to Commodore Sloat School to provide instruction or children with speech and language problems.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
An occupational therapist is assigned to Commodore Sloat School to work with students on improving their ability to perform tasks for independent functioning when functions are impaired or lost; and preventing, through early intervention, initial or further impairment or loss of function. ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
Students needing help in English are provided extra support, individually or in small groups in the classroom by an ESL paraprofessional.
SCHOOL BREAKFAST & LUNCH
Breakfast and lunch are available daily in the cafeteria. Breakfast is served from 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:25 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Those hcildren who qualify for free lunches also qualify for free breakfasts. New applications for free breakfast and lunch are required each year. Applicants are processed by the District Cafeteria Department and eligible studnet names are then given to school sites. Menus are sent home each month in the Wednesday envelope and are also available on the SFUSD site [click here].
