Welcome!
Commodore Sloat is a safe, nurturing environment that attracts an ethnically diverse population. We have a staff of veteran teachers and a committed principal. We encourage our students to grow socially as well as academically, supporting them to become responsible, well-rounded citizens.
In addition to our amazing staff, we are so lucky to have a very strong parent community at Commodore Sloat. When you enroll your student here, you automatically become a member of the Parents’ Club Organization (PCO), an independent nonprofit organization that serves as our “PTA”. There are no membership dues required. The PCO has a solid partnership with Sloat’s staff and, as a result, we are able to offer many programs that are sadly not available in all public schools, especially with the current budget situation. We are happy to offer many enrichment programs again this year.
In addition to these programs, PCO funds help purchase teacher and office supplies, field trips at each grade level, sponsor cultural school-wide assemblies, and pay for invaluable administrative support in the office. As you can see, we keep busy to ensure that all of our children have the best possible experience at Sloat.
All of this is made possible through the PCO’s fundraising efforts and your support both as volunteers, contributors, and fundraising for our school.
Every parent, grandparent, and guardian is part of the Commodore Sloat village and necessary to Commodore Sloat’s success. So keep an eye out for ways to help, our volunteer community is what makes us special.
